 Rachel Scott Breads, one of New Zeqaland's premier bakeries. After a decade baking professionally in  Europe, Scott resettled in Amberley, where she handbakes pain au levain, ciabatta and paroa moana - a maori-inspired, seaweed-based bread.

Seriously creative fine dining can be found at Pegasus Bay's restaurant, whereas Canterbury house is a touch less fancy, but more generously proportioned. Waipara Springs Winery has always served superb alfresco lunches and Brew Moon Brewery and Cafe does snazzy food and smashing micro-brewed ales, stouts and porters.The Nor'wester is renowned for good coffee and award winning food.
